Captain Dave’s Dockside Restaurant
For a unique waterfront dining experience in the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina," treat your eyes and taste buds to dinner at Capt. Dave's Dockside Restaurant.
Located in a quaint blue house on the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk, Capt. Dave's has been serving guests since 1975. The high percentage of locals and repeat visitors tells you all you need to know about the view and the quality, but the restaurant has been featured in numerous local and national publications if you need further proof.
Featuring a large patio deck where patrons can enjoy some fresh air to go with their fresh seafood, Capt. Dave's draws a large outdoor crowd. Live music is performed in the late afternoons and early evenings and guests can relax while watching the fishing fleets return from a long day at sea with the fresh catch of the day in tow.
That's because Capt. Dave is an actual captain and his boats sail out daily to harvest much of the restaurant's seafood. Daily specials are often based on the day's haul, and the regular menu offers all the standards that seafood lovers expect when they visit the beach. Many dishes reflect the local Lowcountry influences, like the shrimp and grits with tasso gravy.
Surf and turf is the way to go as Capt. Dave's grills its steaks and seafood over a lump-charcoal grill that creates a flavorful sear. Soups, salads, appetizers and desserts are all on the menu, and a full bar in the front and back of the restaurant keeps the party crowd far enough away to allow for a romantic or quiet family dinner.
Capt. Dave's also features a new bar, Bubba's Love Shack, on the Marsh Walk, so diners can make their way down the dock and continue the evening with some live music and good times.
