Coral Beach Guests Enjoy Free Myrtle Beach Hot Summer Nights
“Some of the best things in life are free” … or so the saying goes. We know of at least one case where it’s true in Myrtle Beach: at Hot Summer Nights on the boardwalk! Our Coral Beach Resort guests tell us they love the free celebrations of summer, held every night in downtown Myrtle Beach.
The Hot Summer Nights events are held on weekends in the spring and fall and every night all summer long, from June 2 through Sept. 29, usually getting started after 7 p.m. and running until 11 p.m. or later.
Weekends are a great time to enjoy the sizzling fun at Hot Summer Nights. Friday nights, you can head down to the boardwalk and keep an eye out for the sounds of Dixie, as there will be a Dixieland trio wandering the boardwalk. Saturday nights will rock with live music on stage in Plyler Park. The band schedule hasn’t been set, but last year’s program had several popular regional bands that play reggae, R&B, rock and, of course, beach music, which is the music most identified with the state dance of South Carolina, the shag.
On Sunday nights during the summer, you can catch a live performance from the King—or at least someone who looks and sounds a whole lot like Elvis—from 7 to 11 p.m. in Plyler Park. The Elvis impersonator will also perform along the boardwalk many weekend nights during the spring and fall.
On Mondays, the summer celebrants will set up a mini carnival for the kids. It’s a great night for the little ones, with all of their favorite carnival activities. They can have their faces painted, enjoy rides, play games and jump for joy on inflatables.
Tuesdays and Thursdays will also feature live music in Plyler Park, and Wednesday night is fireworks night! The show is the most spectacular fireworks display on the beach, and shoots off from the 2nd Avenue Pier. The best place to view the show is from the boardwalk.
Hot Summer Nights on the Myrtle Beach boardwalk is simply one of the most fun free events going. It’s fun, family-friendly and totally free. Check it out next time you come visit Coral Beach Resort!
