The Carolina Opry - The #1 Show in Myrtle Beach
Boasting 60 miles of white sandy beaches, premier resorts, historic landmarks, fabulous shopping and attractions, and first-class entertainment, Myrtle Beach has earned its title as #1 family beach in America.
So if you’re at the #1 beach, why not see the #1 show it has to offer? Visit the Carolina Opry, the one and only show to be voted Best Show in Myrtle Beach every year since the poll began.
The Carolina Opry on South Carolina's Grand Strand launched in 1986. This live music variety show features a cast of 36 of the nation's top singers, dancers, comedians and musicians in its own 2200-seat show palace with state-of-the-art sound and lighting and three giant video screens. The show, which is continually updated with new music and comedy, is two hours of high energy entertainment that blends humor and dancing with everything from rock 'n roll, Broadway and country to classic hits, pop melodies and gospel.
A special feature at the Opry includes Good Vibrations, a 90-minute, virtual tour of the Sixties, Seventies and Eighties that is full of the sights and sounds from each decade. From the Righteous Brothers to Kiss, from Elvis to the Beatles, it's an evening of feel-good fun for everyone.
For the holidays, the theater is transformed into a winter wonderland where the magic of the season comes alive in The Carolina Opry Christmas Special, a wonderfully sentimental musical celebration of America's best-loved holiday.

• Find an event.
Myrtle Beach knows how to celebrate, so keep an eye out for free events all year long. There are almost always free concerts, festivals and free entertainment events such as the Myrtle Beach Hot Summer Nights events on the Boardwalk or movies under the stars at the Market Common.
• Take a hike.
There are plenty of places to go for a stroll in Myrtle Beach, especially if people-watching is more your style than window-shopping. Try the Oceanfront Boardwalk and Promenade for a fun surfside stroll—it’s been ranked as one of the top boardwalks in the U.S.! You can also head down to Broadway at the Beach if you can resist, which is free provided you can resist all the shopping and dining options. Keep an eye out for free strolling entertainment as well as fireworks shows at night throughout the summer season.
• Take a walk on the wild(er) side.
The causeways that connect the mainland to the barrier islands in Pawley’s Island, Litchfield, Garden City and Cherry Grove are all great places to park, stroll, and watch the gorgeous scenery. Watch and listen for the sounds of the marshes and keep your eyes out for wildlife, from egrets to turtles and terrapins and even perhaps an alligator! You can also pack your fishing gear and find plenty of great, free spots to catch your dinner.
If you’re not sure whether there are free events going on while you’re here, just ask your Coral Beach hotel staff! We’re here to help—and we’ve got great ideas for fun.
