Explore the 2nd Avenue Pier

Just a few blocks north of the Coral Beach Resort and Suites stands one of the areas oldest establishments. Originally built in 1936 and stretching 906 feet out into the Atlantic Ocean, the 2nd Avenue Pier is the longest pier in Myrtle Beach and marks the southern most end of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade. Atop its planks, visitors can sit and enjoy the soothing crash of the ocean waves, watch the local wildlife and take in the surrounding beauty.

Along with the breathtaking ocean views, the 2nd Ave. Pier also allows visitor to fish from its perch above the ocean. The pier shop offers $9 daily fishing passes to all those wishing to get out and enjoy a day of fishing. Don’t have any own gear? No problem, the shop also offers a rod rental package that includes a daily fishing pass, fishing rod, and one tray of bait and all for just $25. Sit out at the end of the pier and take it all in while casting a line into the deep waters below.

All that hooking an reeling is sure to work up an appetite. Luckily, the Pier House Restaurant has you covered. Open from 8am-8pm and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, this restaurant with a view has some of the best food on the Grand Strand. With dozens of specialty seafood dishes like the Wahoo Omelet, Chesterfield Crab Sandwich, and Seafood Pasta, the Pier House provides its guests with a taste of the area’s best local catch. If you’re not a seafood lover, the Pier House also has a number of great eats for land lovers.

Whether you’ve been out fishing and enjoy the view or just looking for a great place to unwind, Pier View Bar and Lounge is the best beachside bar in Myrtle Beach. Open from 11am until the last person leaves, this open air bar was designed to provide guests with an authentic feel of what beach life is all about. The elevated wraparound deck features comfy couches and chairs where guests can relax and enjoy one of the bars amazing margaritas or grab some grub from the menu.
