Sea Captain’s House - A Myrtle Beach Tradition
Sea Captain's House is lauded by Grand Strand locals and visitors as an exceptional restaurant. Started in the 1930's as a beach house, Sea Captain's has been serving guests low country appetizers, seafood, salads, and desserts since 1962.
Sea Captain's menu tempts guests with a large selection of Southern cuisine prepared with fresh ingredients in generous portions. In the morning, start with the Breakfast Buffet, which offers a full spread of all of your breakfast favorites. Popular selections include the Brie and Bacon omelet, Brioche Bread Pudding, Pecan Waffle, or Crab Cakes Benedict. Whether you are craving something sweet or something savory, the decadent breakfast menu is sure to deliver something satisfying.
For Lunch or Dinner, start with an appetizer of McClellanville Crab Dip or a hot cup of their famous She Crab Soup. Fill up on one of their sandwich plates like the Fried Flounder sandwich which consists of three juicy filets of fish and served with their remoulade sauce, a pickle, fries or pasta salad. Among their many salads, the Avocado Sea Fare is a stand out combining chilled boiled shrimp, lump crab meat, and remoulade sauce. The Fresh Baked Quiche of the Day is always scrumptious and large enough to share. Other entrees include Sea Island Shrimp, Jambalaya, Crab Cakes, Low Country Crab Casserole, Chicken Oscar, and much more. They have vegetarian, gluten-free, and children's menus as well as daily specials. Leave room for coffee and one of the fabulous desserts like the Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie, served warm with vanilla bean ice cream, or the Hummingbird Cake, a true southern tradition. Menu prices range from $7.50- $22.50. They serve soft drinks, coffee, and tea in addition to offering a full bar.
Sea Captain's House has kept the homey, breezy feel of a beach house with its nautical decor and many-room layout. Guests can dine at tablecloth or wrought-iron tables in The Blue Room, The Chart Room, The Red Room, The Sun Room, or on the patio.
