Experience the many wonders of the sea with a visit to the Grand Strand's No. 1 attraction at Ripley's Aquarium.
Located at the popular Boardwalk at the Beach complex in Myrtle Beach, Ripley's Aquarium is an 85,000-square-foot facility filled with sealife and other aquatic displays that are both fun and educational for the whole family.
Featuring a 750,000-gallon centerpiece tank that allows visitors to get up close and personal with various
species of sharks, stingrays, sea turtles and rare tropical fish as well as other educational displays from the depths of the oceans, it's easy to see why Ripley's Aquarium is South Carolina most visited attraction.
Guests can take a virtual tour of the underwater world at exhibitis such as Rio Amazon, Rainbow Rock, Dangerous Reef and Ray Bay, which highlight unique species of sealife from all over the planet. Or ride the 340-foot glideway through a tunnel that surrounds you with giant sharks, eels and other sea creatures on all sides.
Catch live shows, like the feeding of the sharks at various times of day in which divers enter the tanks to
hand-feed these beautiful but dangerous predators. Mermaid shows feature the mythical beings come to life to dance and play under water. Guests can swim with the stingrays, catch horseshoe crabs and even sleep with the sharks for an additional fee.
Special exhibits and events also make regular appearances at Ripley's Aquarium, such as a popular dinosaur display and marine camps for kids. Patrons also can check out the Cargo Hold gift shop for a souvenir of their visit or grab a bite to eat at the Feeding Frenzy Grill.
