2014 has come and gone and with a new year comes several new and exciting changes to Myrtle Beach. Curious about what 2015 has in store for Myrtle Beach?
Check out our rundown on what’s new for 2015:
North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex – The new North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex opened last summer and has already brought more sports tourism to the area. Aside from the new pristine sports fields, the complex also offers a haven for families with tons of green space for playing, two new playgrounds, picnic areas and pavilions, a dog park, and an indoor event space that has already hosted several local events.
“Back gate” Overpass Completion – Anyone who has been to Myrtle Beach over the past three years is sure to be familiar with the large constriction project that has taken place towards the south end of Highway 17 Bypass. Well, the much anticipated project is finally complete! This massive project has made travel between the north and south end of Myrtle Beach much easier and has created a more organized route to Farrow Parkway and Market Common. The next big project will be in Surfside Beach at the Glens Bay Road intersection and will take another three years to complete so keep that in mind if you are traveling south from the beach.
Myrtle Beach Airport Adds New Flights – The Myrtle Beach airport recently announced several new destinations and an expanded flight schedule for the 2015 season. New flight destinations include Cleveland, Lexington, Syracuse, Cincinnati, and Columbus – to name a few. The flight schedule will begin to pick up this spring and run throughout the end of the summer.
