Myrtle Beach Honeymoon

Couple on a myrtle beach honeymoon
Sep05

While the Myrtle Beach area is most often known for being a great summer or spring break vacation spot, did you know it is also a favorite honeymoon destination? We have put together a list of our favorite romantic dining options and the best activities to partake in while enjoying the perfect Myrtle Beach honeymoon as newlyweds!

Dining

Thoroughbreds Chophouse & Seafood Grille

Located slightly north of us at 9706 N. Kings Hwy, Thoroughbreds is a locally owned and operated fine dining restaurant that has been a Myrtle Beach favorite for nearly 30 years. They pride themselves in offering fine quality food and excellent service to all of their guests. The upscale atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a romantic night out and you are sure to find plenty you’ll love on their extensive wine and dinner menus. For dessert, we recommend their Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding! Thoroughbreds is open Tuesday-Sunday from 4:30-10:00 pm. Call them at 843-497-2636 or go online for reservations.

The Library

Established in 1974, The Library Restaurant is the epitome of a fine-dining romantic atmosphere! Start the night with cocktails at their speakeasy-themed bar and then make your way to your table to enjoy a delicious beef carpaccio appetizer and duck l’orange entrée. They have been awarded the 2017 Diners’ Choice Award and have also been named the finest restaurant on the Grand Strand by Mobil Travel Guide. The Library is located at 6613 N Kings Highway and open Monday-Saturday, from 5:00-10:00 pm. Reserve a table online or call 843-448-4527.

Sea Captain’s House

“A tradition since basically forever” is their motto, and we couldn’t agree more! Any Myrtle Beach native could tell you about this wonderful restaurant and all it has to offer. Sea Captain’s house is known for its delicious seafood and its menu features items such as bacon-wrapped scallops, shrimp and grits, award-winning she-crab soup, and Carolina surf and turf. Your honeymoon is the perfect time to splurge on dinner especially when it includes a gorgeous waterfront view! They’re located at 3002 N Ocean Blvd and are open Sunday-Thursday from 4:30-9:00 pm and Friday-Saturday from 4:30-9:30 pm. To make a reservation call 843-448-8082 or reserve online at opentable.com.

New York Prime

Nestled just north of us and only one block off of the beach, New York Prime has been a local favorite for years. This posh steakhouse has won “Best Steaks” and diners’ choice awards around the beach and is known for its exceptional service and USDA Prime Only menu. Some of their best-known menu options include colossal baked shrimp, aged beef, and fresh Florida stone crabs. To make the night even more romantic, you can call and request the private dining room to celebrate your nuptials. Make your honeymoon dinner reservation by calling 843-448-8081.

If you are in the mood for a more casual night, Broadway at the Beach is a great place to get out, walk around, and enjoy plenty of dining options.

Activities

Brookgreen Gardens

Brookgreen Gardens is a wonderful day time activity if you are in the mood to get some fresh air, walk around, and take in all the beauty that nature has to offer. Brookgreen is known for its botanical gardens, American sculptures, low country history, and low country zoo. Choose a guided tour or stroll through this National Historic Landmark on your own. You will not find a more unique melding of nature, art, and history! Brookgreen Gardens is open daily from 9:30 am-5:00 pm. Be sure to check out their events calendar as Brookgreen Garden hosts many festivals throughout the year!

The Market Common

Sometimes honeymooners just want a casual day out and about filled with shopping, dining, and strolling hand in hand, and the Market Common is the perfect place! Enjoy shopping in unique boutiques such as J.Jill, Anthropologie, and Ivy & Leo and then head on over for lunch and afternoon cocktails at Tupelo Honey Café or Travinia’s Italian Kitchen. End your afternoon with a walk around the pond or with a sweet treat from Cold Stone Creamery or The Uncommon Chocolatier. The Market Common is just a short 10-minute drive from Coral Beach Resort and is open all year round.

Huntington Beach State Park

Explore the outdoors, walk through a castle, and stroll along the beach all in one place! Huntington Beach State Park is 2,500 acres of so many different treasures. Some of our favorite things to do when visiting Huntington is to walk the causeway and look for birds and alligators, take a self-guided audio tour through Atalaya Castle, or explore the 3-mile beach, its jetties and even go fishing. Huntington Beach is located in Murrells Inlet at 16148 Ocean Hwy. Looking if you need more information? Give them a call at 843-237-4440.

Take a Sunset Cruise

The evening is both a romantic and magical time to be out on the water, and there is no better place to watch a beautiful Myrtle Beach sunset than on the deck of a boat! Express Water Sports offers 1-hour sunset cruises for $35 a person featuring complimentary wine, fruit and cheese, and soft drinks – the perfect way to honeymoon. They are located 15 minutes south of the Coral Beach Resort, in Murrells Inlet. Make your sunset cruise reservations online or call 843-357-7777.
