Couple enjoy a jetski rentals Myrtle Beach
Oct23

It’s never too early to start planning next summer’s Myrtle Beach vacation! A lot of thought goes into what activities your family will choose to do during your stay and one of our favorite activities to recommend our guest are jet-ski rentals! Jet skis are a great way to cool, catch some speed, and explore the beautiful Grand Strand waters. Whether you choose your jet-ski rental to be winding through the different canals of the Waccamaw River, or prefer to ride the waves up and down the Atlantic Ocean coastline you really can’t go wrong! We have put together a list of the top Jet Ski rentals in Myrtle Beach to ensure your family is getting the best watersport experience!

Shawn’s Backwater Adventure

Choose from 4 different Jet Ski rental options at Shawn’s Backwater Adventure. Whether you want to explore the historic plantations on a relaxing waterway ride or you are an adrenaline junky with a need for speed, they have a rental perfect for you and your family! Drivers must be at least 16 years old with a valid license but the best news is that kids 12 and under ride free. Rentals start at $130 and they even offer lessons for those who have no riding experience. Shawn’s Backwater Adventure is located at 101 Fantasy Harbour Blvd and you can give them a call at 843-353-7020.

Island Adventure Watersports

Island Adventure Watersports offers 2 types of Jet Ski riding, a self-guided 1-hour rental, or a 2-hour backcountry jet-ski tour. Whichever you choose, we can promise it won’t disappoint! Both rides occur in the Intercoastal Waterway so you do not have the ocean waves (this is a calmer option that is great for younger ones). Rentals start at $95.00 and they are located at 5843 Dick Pond Road. Contact them at 843-650-7003.

Myrtle Beach Watersports

Myrtle Beach Watersports has 2 different locations depending on what Jet Ski rental experience you are looking for. Their Myrtle Beach location (8201 Marina Parkway) is great for those who are looking to get some speed and have 20 miles of free-riding space! Enjoy less boat traffic, no sand bars, a wide riding space, and no “No Wake” zones to slow you down. If you are interested in the 2-hour dolphin excursion, the North Myrtle Beach location is your best option (Harbourgate Marina). This location is closer to the ocean giving you a more scenic ride and more time to find a view dolphin. Rentals start at $125.00 and you can visit the Myrtle Beach Watersports website for more information. Drivers must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver’s license.

Downwind Sails Watersport

Downwind Sails has been providing jet-ski rentals to the Grand Strand since 1978. They are located at 29th Avenue South (so these are ocean rides) and have 2 choices of either 30 minute or 1-hour excursions. They pride themselves on hiring trained professionals who are CPR and US Coast Guard certified. Riders must be 16 years old and at least 42 inches high. Reservations are not required as walk-ups are always welcome. Tours start at $85.00. Visit the Downwind Sails website or give them a call at 843-448-7245 for more information.

In addition to jet skis, Myrtle Beach has other awesome watersport rentals available!

We know all that riding will have you work up an appetite. Be sure to check out Myrtle Beach’s awesome dining options with some great views!

Harvest elements on Myrtle Beach in October
Oct07

One of our favorite things about Myrtle Beach in the fall, especially in October, is how you still get the feel of a “summer vacay” but without the large crowds and high humidity. Even more, the October activities and events happening along the Grand Strand are some of our favorites of the year! Here’s everything you need to know about Myrtle Beach in October –take a look!

Is Myrtle Beach warm in October?

Let’s get right to the punch, the short answer is YES! While there are usually a handful of considerable cooler days within the month, the average temperature for Myrtle Beach in October is a beautiful 75°F and the water stays around the low 70’s. Did we mention that we usually only have around 5 days of rain throughout the entire month? (But in case of rain, here are a few fun things to do during rainy days.) We’re not sure about you, but we’d take sunny and 75° over humid and 105° any day!

What are some reasons to visit Myrtle Beach in October?

Aside from the beautiful weather, one of our other top reasons for a Myrtle Beach vacation in October is the smaller crowd size. There is a whole lot to do in our wonderful little beach town, but sometimes the lines are just too long to get to do it all during our busy summer months. October is a great time to visit if you are looking for a more relaxed feel and the ability to make dinner or event reservations more last minute.

Here are a few other reasons to visit during October:

What is there to do in October?

Since 70° water might be a little cool for some swimmers, October is the perfect month to get out and explore the parts of the Grand Strand you haven’t seen before. Take a stroll through the La Amie Vineyard in Little River or visit Atalaya Castle down in Huntington Beach State Park.

This month features tons of Myrtle Beach fall festivals and events such as Myrtle Beach Oktoberfest, St. John’s Greek Festival, The Hippie Fest, Art in the Park, Boofest at Barefoot Landing, and tons of other Halloween festivities along the Grand Strand.

Lastly, you can never go wrong with visiting one of the outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment centers: Broadway at the Beach, Market Common, or Barefoot Landing.
